March... March... March

Thankfully, The initial thrill of leaving the country has dies off a little bit. Sure there are spurges of excitement every once in a while (where I spend hours on end researching German-stuff), but it's really great to not be weighed down with all the anxiety paired with foreign exchange- I can finally semi-concentrate on school work, and all my other extra stuff. It has been so busy recently, Forensics is in full swing- Track just started- academics are crazy hard... Im so releaved I dont have to be here next year. I cant imagine what the condition of my mind would be like- I'd have nothing to look forward to. Oh I'm also really stressed because I have two speech contests Im entering. One of them is for rotary, and the winner gets $1,250. I'm really hoping to do well. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm happy to say that German is going extremely well! I've learned a lot of the basics. I understand the basic structures of sentences, and my vocabulary is increasing :) It's amazing how 30 a day can really help you! So far I think its been around 50 or-so days since I've been studying German, so it really adds up!

That leads me to the last thing on my mind... host families- believe it or not, people are starting to find out where they're going! Im super suprised, I thought we didnt find out till likw May or June or July, super weird. It gets me a little jitterish... Im not sure if I want to find out my host family too quick because I dont want to have pre-concieved notions about what my family or town will be like! Ill be sure to update when I find out where I'm going... ehhh writing about it is bringing back the anxietyyy :/

Oh quick note- for one of our conferences we have a talent show, and I will be playing this song on the piano that I wrote- It incorporates a bunch of emotions that I believe I will experience while being on exchange- Its pretty cool!

Bis später!
